Private car hire taxi services are provided by the airport's two official concessionaires, Gatwick Airport Cars (01293 562291) and Gatwick Goldline Cars (01293 568368). Both companies have booking offices in North and South Terminals. Cars are normally available immediately or within 5 minutes of booking and at busy times the companies co-operate to ensure waiting times are as short as possible. All journeys are priced according to taximeters fitted in the cars, there are no extra charges for carrying luggage and no extra charges for journeys on public holidays. All major credit cards are accepted. A minimum price applies for distances up to 2.5 miles during the day and 3.5 miles at night. After this minimum price, a standard day rate per mile applies. Higher rates apply between midnight and 06:00, but do not exceed 10p per mile over the day rate.

Cars with swivel seats are available for disabled travellers, and it is best to give advance notice if possible.

Illegal taxi touts may seek to offer their services. This is a criminal offence and for your own protection, you are strongly advised not to accept their services and to alert the Police or airport staff.

You can, of course, use any taxi service or private hire car company of your choice, provided you have booked the journey in advance. The simplest way to make contact is to ask the driver to wait at the relevant Terminal Arrivals concourse with a card displaying your name.
